Balancing our income with our expenses involves either time or money. It takes time to cut our expenses and time to improve our income.
Things that save money, but take time:
– Cooking your own meals
– Growing a garden
– Cutting coupons
– Reading the sales ads
– Selling items on eBay or hosting a garage sale
The alternative to saving money is to make more- which invariably means more work. However, more work doesn’t necessarily have to mean more time away from your family. You can get creative and involve your family in raising chickens and selling the eggs or making homemade bread and selling it to the neighbors.
Whether you’re willing to sacrifice time to save money or time to make money- a balance must be struck if you’re going to live within your means, let alone have money to put in your savings account or money market account for a rainy day.
